Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is gentle, extremely powerful, and totally guided by the client's readiness to heal.  It is light hands on touch that releases restrictions in the fascial membranes; thin onion-skin-like coverings of the brain, nerves, muscles and organs.  The therapist assesses and utilizes the Craniosacral Pulse created by the subtle rhythmic flow of the Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) in the brain.  This Pulse is carried all over the body via the fascial membranes. Craniosacral Therapy can release scar tissue formed from physical or emotional injuries to the body. What is generally felt by the client is profound relaxation. It is beneficial to all those experiencing pain, and is fabulous for concussions. Treatments can be a quick few minutes on a squirmy toddler, and up to 40 mins for folks happy to lie fully clothed and relaxed on the table.  It is used quite often with children, headaches, emotional issues, chronic pain, muscle strains, relaxation, and physical injuries that have not been completely resolved. Much work has been done on psychiatric problems, strokes and head injuries using Craniosacral Therapy with amazing results.

Acupressure

Acupressure
This is acupuncture for sensitive wimps, who would rather not be poked all over with little pins.  Acupressure uses firm finger and thumb pressure on acupuncture points, releasing pain, relaxing spasms, and bringing about emotional balance.   It can be just as effective as the needles.  Dr. Megan uses this often in tandem with other hands on healing techniques such as craniosacral therapy, bowen, and massage.
